Umbrella

If you are taking on a short to medium term assignment or you’re new to contracting, then working under our Umbrella company could be for you.

CIS

CIS stands for “Construction Industry Scheme” which was introduced by HM Revenue and Customs in April 2014. The scheme is a set of rules which sets out how payments to contractors within the construction industry must be handled.

If you are working within the construction Industry and you are not under any Supervision Direction or Control, then you can be paid as self-employed.

As a CIS worker we will raise an invoice for you and send to your agency or client for any work carried out. Once we receive your pay we will make the necessary CIS deductions and forward your NET pay to your account on the same day.

If you are unsure your role would be deemed as self-employed, don’t worry, at registration our team of experts we will carry out an IR56 check on the phone by asking you some questions around the way you work.

As part of your package we will also provide you with the necessary insurances to work on site and process all HMRC payments leaving you with more time doing what you enjoy and not worrying about pay and tax!

Limited Company

Working through your own limited company is often the most Tax efficient way of maximising your take home pay.

Your agency or end client will pay your salary Gross (without any deductions) into your company. You will then be able to draw down your salary through wages and Dividends. Dividends do not attract National Insurance and therefore can save you significant amount of money.

You will have access to an online portal where you can input your business-related expenses such as travel, overnight accommodation and business entertainment all of which will further reduce your tax liability.

Running your own limited company also comes with responsibility such as Company set up, raising your own invoices, completing annual accounts, VAT returns, self-assessment tax returns, management accounts etc.

PAYE

Some recruitment agencies and end clients may insist that you are paid through a PAYE model.

There can be some variations of this depending on who is deemed as the actual employer and how the payments are processed.

Whether it is straight forward bureau payments, Joint Employment, PEO (Professional Employment Organisation) or outsource PAYE, we can help.

Initially, we will speak to your agency or the end client to discuss which method best suits them.

Regardless of the PAYE model your employer prefers, you can rest assured that you will receive a simple, straight forward payslip, no fees or charges and no deductions for things such as Employers NI.

  1. We will complete most of your registration on the phone however if you are super busy you can register online, e-mail or even post
  2. Pentagon Group will then carry out any right to work or SDC checks
  3. You upload your ID and bank details to your personal contractor portal
  4. On pay day your employer will send your salary to us. Depending on your product we will make all necessary Tax and NI deductions and pay you the same day.
